Dear Safer Networking.
Looks like a great tool! I used to use autoruns of Sysinternals, which gave a good listing of all these self-starting activities, but no indication about their nature. RunAlyzer would be of great help.
However, when runnning under Windows ME, I do get error messages (two days ago I think it was 80000003, now I get an 'Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address FFFFFFFF.'. The program continues running (after I click OK), and seems functional. Is this a known error? Any way I could help (might be you don't have this version of Windows still running)?
Regards, Kees.
I have all versions of Windows running in virtual machines...
Well, I'm currently switchting to Delphi 2006, once that is finished, I will test this on Windows ME to see if I can reproduce :)

Great, thanks.
Maybe some additional info also might help: today again I got the 80000003 alert: it just states: 'External exception 80000003.' with a red circle/white cross icon (title says 'RunAlyzer'). It appears immediately after the progress bar has become full. If I click 'OK', the program seems to continue normally.
Apart from that: a question: I see (e.g. in the Autorun tab) both 'Global (64 bit)' and 'Global (32 bit)' clusters, the content of which seems to be exactly the same. Same in e.g. Explorer Plugins tab. If this should not be the case: maybe a related issue?
Regards, Kees.
The 64-bit entries shouldn't even appear under Windows ME, I guess that's a place where I need to look as well. 64-bit support is quite new and only added in the last release ;)

I guess that's why it is still an alpha release. ;) I'm eagerly waiting for the beta... :bigthumb: Thanks so far!!!
Excellent program! (I have looked at many others!)
I can confirm the same error in winME,
'External Exception 80000003'
The program continues to run after clicking OK.
As this program is in Alpha (Product: v1.0.0.0 File v0.3.0.0), I was wondering if a regmon dump up to the error, on a live WinME box would help.
The rar file size of the dump is 248KB, if you would like it please point to what file name, and e-mail address you would like it sent to.
Thanks for the great work!

I noticed that I got both the 64 and 32 clusters as well, running XP SP2 on 32bit CPU (P4 3GHz). It would be nice if Runalyzer could check whether the PC is running 64 bit and only display the 64 bit entries in that case, though of course it's not a problem, I just ignore those.
It would indeed be easy if RunAlyzer would just check if the current running OS is 64 bit... but what about running RunAlyzer from a WinPE CD, or if you've installed XP 64 bit on another partition and want to manage it through RunAlyzer from a 32 bit Windows?
Since RunAlyzer can manage more than one installation at the same time, we need to manage this differently by detecting if the selected registry branch is part of a 64 bit Windows registry structure or not... I've found a safe way to do that by now I think.

Dear PepiMK,
Thanks for version 0.6. I would like to give some feedback (still running WindowsME):
- Unfortunately, I still get the 'external exception error 80000003', just after the initial scan. Everything remains working, though, or at least it looks like that.
- Most 64-bit entries are gone now. Strangely enough, in Advanced startups, one remains, on 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor\' (both 32 and 64 bit is listed, same contents).
- In Autorun tab, the entry 'C:\WINDOWS\win.ini' is listed twice (same contents).
Still did not find any red items, so seems to be safe (although not everything is already green).
How can I check which version I am running? In Help/About, no version number is listed. Acc to the forum, we are at version 0.6. If I generate a SBSD log or HJT log (what does these abbrevs mean?), in the log file it states 0.3.
Thanks so far, Kees.

Hey there,
I got here on my Windows ME system the same error message after starting the app (Version 0.6v2).
Here is a screenshot:

Another problem is, that after first start of RunAlyzer, the system language isn't automatically detected and used for the UI of RunAlyzer.
Instead the default? english is used.
I hope you can fix the problem soon..(Is everything fine with Delphi 2006? :D)
Thx in advance!
best regards,

Jakuna:
Are indicating that Spybot-S&D won't load?
The reason I am asking is that you are in the RunAlyzer forum and posted in a thread discussing problems with RunAlyzer.
If you are having problems with Spybot-S&D, I suggest you start your own thread in the Spybot-S&D (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=4) forum discribing the problem you are having.
