This is a first preview of CompatAlyzer, a small tool dedicated to analyse Windows PE executable files for their compatibility to different Windows versions, and to show information if certain functions used by those files may need special attention.
Who needs it?
1. Developers who want to get a rough estimate if their program will run under all Windows versions, to avoid the need to look up each of hundreds of function calls in MSDN and/or trying on all OS versions. It also helps determining which Microsoft DLL updates need to be recommended to users of specific OS versions.
2. People interested in unknown files - CompatAlyzer shows if programs use functions used for Code Injection, RAS Dialup, Internet connecitivity etc. ...
3. People wanting another goodie from Safer Networking Ltd. :D
