I'm running XP Home Media Center edition. Today the Security Centre has started to notify me that "ZoneAlarm Firewall reports that it is currently turned off" when it most definately is on.

Is this anything to be concerned about?

Doesn't sound so good. Are you sure it's turned on? What version of ZA are you running? Is it ZA 7?

I'm a ex-ZA user so I'm so sure tabs and all that.

Reboot. ZA should start automatically.

Yep. It's ZA 7 with the latest updates. Right now it reports "All Systems Active". Rebooting makes no difference.

I'm not sure if uninstalling and reinstalling will do...

I was thinking about just setting Windows Security Center to IGNORE the monitoring.

Newo Trophy:

Try resetting Windows Management Instrumentation service as follows:
Start a Command prompt:
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command prompt
Run the following commands:
winmgmt /clearadap
winmgmt /kill
winmgmt /unregserver
winmgmt /regserver
winmgmt /resyncperf
exit
Restart you system.

Yep, I thought about this but WSC never alerted me previously and although I know ZA is running, I'm a little bit suspicious about the warning.

I tried this but WSC still reports that ZA is currently turned off. ZA itself reports "All Systems Active"
