Well, about a month ago now my friend sent me a zipped folder...Well, when I opened it, it turned out that it was full of viruses and stuff, he just didn't know it because he downloaded it from some random site. At THAT time, I only had Trend Micro, and it wasn't detecting anything when I was clearly getting random Internet Explorer windows popping up.

At that time, I downloaded Avast and ran a boot-scan, and it seemed to do the trick. It detected a bunch of things with a weird name like "Win-Drop"or "Vun-drop" or something. A week or so ago, I was looking around on Google image search an I got a bunch of things saying I was infected with more viruses...I thought it was from a random site, but it was the same Vun-Drop thing...But it was also accompanied with some rootkits.

I managed to get rid of THOSE, but then about 3 days ago, after downloading those Windows updates, Spybot told me that there were changes being made to my computer...I allowed them, thinking that it was just from Windows backing up my files...But when I restarted, I got a couple of random pop-up things again...Yesterday it did the same, but only for about an hour, and then they stopped completely...Now, today, I'm getting them pretty bad again, and NOTHING is detecting anything seriously wrong. Spybot already got rid of something like this I thought, but now I don't know what to think.

Does anyone have any advice? x.x Am really hoping I didn't kill my computer....

Download HiJack This at:
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download

Run a scan and save a log. Do NOT fix anything yet.

Copy and paste the log in a new thread in the Malware Forums.
