First off sorry in advance if u do not support or help in this problem.
I am at a loose end, I searched Google and found nothing that really helps me, also clicked on a few dud links that started using auto system scanners without my permission lke Antivirus2008.

Anyhow when I click on Windows update I get the following error "Windows could not search for new updates"
Error(s) Found:
Code 80070424

Its been all good since u last helped me with a Virtumonde problem, until I let my daughter on the Laptop and now I got this error along with a few TRJ's and Tracking Cookies which I cleaned up with Spy-bot and Avira.

Could u help, please?
Thanks Dan

Sorry about the miss-post above (wrong reference URL).

Please see if re-registering the WUAUENG.DLL as suggested by Ronnie Vernon MVP in post # 2 of the following thread from the Microsoft TechNet Forum (http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/default.aspx?siteid=17) is helpful:

drragostea: haha yea obviously, I meant why has he removed it, my bad.

MD: Cheers m8, yea I followed them steps but half the commands couldn't find the file (location....whatever), so I followed a link within the link u posted and got free e-mail help and sent the error report to Microsoft , so hopefully they will send a solution soon.
Sorry I know this is a "Spy-bot" forum but I knew u lot where computer literate and know ur stuff in lots of other technical areas other than "Spy-bot", besides I trust this forum too, u cant be to careful who u sign up with these days.
So yea cheers for ur help and I really appreciate your given time.

Sorry about the confusion. Are we square now? Is everything ok now and no more "Code 80070424" errors during Windows updates?
