View Full Version : Can I remove system restore points?

When I run AVG I find a Trojan horse Dropper.Bravis.A in a file that is located in:

c:\System Volume Information\_restore-{a lot of hexadecimal stuff}\RP54\A0005523.dll

I suppose that's because at some point back in time that file was active on my system when it created a restore point. Now I obviously don't want to restore that file so is there any way for me to tell Windows to drop/delete some of the older restore points? (I have 8 currently and I really only need the last one I think)

Best regards, Lasse

To remove all restore points except the most recent restore point, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. Right-click the disk in which you want to free up space, and then click Properties.
3. Click the General tab, and then click Disk Cleanup.
4. Click the More Options tab, and then under System Restore, click Clean up.
5. Click Yes to remove all but the most recent restore point.
6. Click OK, click Yes to proceed with this action, and then click OK.
