View Full Version : Can't enable SDHelper (IE Resident)

I can't seem to enable the resident SDHelper (IE) option. I can enable Tea Timer by clicking on the checkbox under tools and then resident, but when I click on the checkbox right above Tea Timer (Resident "SDHelper"), the checkbox remains blank. If the check appears, it dissappears again too quickly to be seen. In any case, I can't enable SDHelper. Any ideas? Is there a process running that is blocking it?

Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy. Make sure that the SDHelper.dll file is there.

Nope, no SDHelper.dll. I reinstalled S&D and it works now. Thanks!

DBoughton:

The SDHelper.dll file has been know to have been deleted in the past by malware to prevent the enabling of Spybot's resident "SDHelper". If the file gets deleted again or you suspect that it may have been deleted by malware originally and that malware is still in your system, please do not hesitate to post in the Malware Removal forum and have one of the helpers there take a look at your system.
