Do I need to download hijack this?

Hi, I have Windows XP home edition with service pack 2. I have Norman Internet Protection package and Ad.aware SE on my computer. I continue to get warnings from Norman that Look2Me commercials are found on my computer. It quarantines them and I delete. I get pop-ups mostly when closing down Internet Explorer and I may have to click off a few ads while I'm browsing but nothing too serious. My computer is quite useable as it is. What I'm asking is I'm pretty green and I know about downloading Look2Me Destroyer. Should I use it? Will it damage my computer? Do I need to run it in safe mode? Do I have to send a hijack this log after I run it or should I just try it on my own? I'm kind of scared to use it for some reason. Can you help me?
