My boss has a new Fujitsu Lifebook A Series notebook. When I loaded Spybot and checked the System Startup the first item listed is 331BigDog with Command Line of C:\Windows\VM331_STI.EXE. When I Google the value 331BigDog I don't receive very many references, but the few I do mention malware/spyware/backdoor trojan.

Is this a cause for alarm or is it non-malicious?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

skoobie, I can't tell if this process is malicious or not:

Is the term "Vimicro" associated with your machine in anyway?

Hey drragostea...thanks for the reply. I am not sure on that. I left a message for my boss regarding that. I do see a VC0331 USB2.0 Digital Camera in the Add/Remove Programs and when I Google VIMICRO it takes me to a website regarding security cameras. I know that isn't the security we have here at work but it could be from his home.

Will repost when I hear back from him.

Thanks

Hi skoobie,

You could try uploading the file C:\Windows\VM331_STI.EXE to Virus Total (http://www.virustotal.com/) to help confirm the file's legitimacy

This program is associated with the webcam built into the top of the screen on the Fujitsu T1010 tablet, vimicro is the camera vendor.

Exactly. I quick search at systemlookup confirms that this file is "good (http://www.systemlookup.com/Startup/19153-VM331_STI_EXE.html)". ;)
