Situation: more and more of our smaller tools receive a standard about dialog.

Experienced: this about dialog currently can check whether there's a newer version of the application available online.

Expected: when the About dialog has found a new update, it should be able to download it and save the download for example on the desktop. And since we usually serve applications in executable installer format these days, it could also go ahead and run the installer. The user should get asked if he wants this or not, the operation should not take place without his consent.

In time, this feature will find it's way into many of our apps, except for Spybot-S&D, where the updating situation is fundamentally different.
