Google re-direct and system problems

Ok so I am new to this whole outside tech help. I used to just do a factory restore on my computers if it was something I could not fix. But along with other problems that started all at the same time, my computer now just stays at a black screen after the restart when I attempt a factory restore. My google links re-direct me to spam sites. My computer has stopped recognizing all ipods, but will still recognize iphones? I looked into it and all arrows point to malware so I decided to find help. I tried running full and quick scans of malwarebytes and it found nothing.

Download aswMBR to your desktop. Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it
Click the Scan button to start scan

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply.

I just put that program on my desktop, and when I try to run it, it just ask if i want to allow it to make changes to my computer. When I hit yes nothing happens as if I never clicked the program at all.

Hi,

1. Download TDSSKiller and extract its contents into a folder in desired location (i.e. c:\tdsskiller).
2. Execute the file TDSSKiller.exe.
3. Click Start Scan. If threats are found, select skip and click Continue (tool may prompt for a reboot).
4. Post back contents of log file in c: drive root (name should be in UtilityName.Version_Date_Time_log.txt format)

I tried with this program and got the same exact result. Tried it and it didn't launch. Tried without AVG and in safe made and STILL was not able to launch.

- Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 7 Update 3.

- Check the box that says:
  Accept License Agreement.
- Click on the jre-7u3-windows-i586.exe link to download Windows Offline Installation and save to your desktop.
- Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
- Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
- Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
- Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
- Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
- Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
- Then from your desktop double-click on jre-7u3-windows-i586.exe to install the newest version.

I went to my control panel and the Java icon is there, but when I click on it all it says is "Application not found!". Also my computer is still having all the same problems. I have also recently had a problem with firefox always telling me it is using up to much memory.

The re-direct happens in both firefox and IE. My computer still is not finding my iPod and I know its not a problem with the ipod cause it finds it on other computers. And some programs that I have tried to uninstall recently wont uninstall properly, for example MagicISO.

Re-run MBRCheck again.
When prompted, enter Y
Then enter 1 to dump the MBR to physical disk
Now the program will ask you Enter the physical disk number to dump (0-99, -1 to cancel):
Enter 0 and press the Enter key.
Name the dumped file as Dump.dat

Enter -1 to exit

A log file named dump.dat will be located in the same folder as MBRCheck was saved, please zip it up. Then upload the file to this website.

Kindly include a link to this topic in the message. Let me know when you have submitted the file.

Hi,

Let's create a system repair disc. You'll need an empty cd/dvd for that.

1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking Start->Control Panel->System and Maintenance->Backup and Restore.

2. In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Let me know when you have the disc created.

I made the repair disc. But honestly this comp is starting to frustrate me and if there is anyway you can just help me be able to do a factory restore I would be just as happy.

I'm not familiar with factory restore with all systems since different manufacturers tend to have different restoring procedures. But if you've done factory restore successfully with this system earlier and same procedure doesn't work now then factory restore from recovery partition obviously won't be an option now.

Did your computer come with Windows 7 installation media? If not then there should had been an option to create recovery discs (I hope you have done that before the system got infected).
