Description:

Systweak.AdvSysProtector is offered to get installed by the Systweak.RegCleanPro installer. It is checked for installation by default. Both programs look almost identical. It uses ClamAV files without declaring this within the scope of the General Public Licence (GPL), thus violating the GPL. Like Systweak.RegCleanPro Systweak.AdvSysProtector shows false positives and urges the user to buy a licence.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "Advanced System Protector_startup" and pointing to "*<$PROGRAMFILES>\Advanced System Protector\AdvancedSystemProtector.exe* autolaunch".
• Entries named "SystweakASP" and pointing to "*<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegClean Pro\SystweakASP.exe* /verysilent".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.

• Products that have a key or property named "00212D92-C5D8-4ff4-AE50-B20F0F85C40A_Systweak_Ad~B9F029BF_is1".

You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "Advanced System Protector" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Systweak\".
• Delete the registry key "Advanced System Protector" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Systweak\".
• Delete the registry value "Advanced System Protector.bak" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\openas\command\".
• Delete the registry value "Advanced System Protector.bak" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\opendlg\command\".
• Remove "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Advanced System Protector\filetypehelper.exe -scanunknown "%1"" from registry value "" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\openas\command\".

If Systweak.AdvSysProtector uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
