The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Popupper" manually.

This programs installs itself to several places on the computer and is always running in the background collecting information about the user's surfing habits.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "sixtysix" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\sixtypopsix.exe".
• Entries named "popuppers64" and pointing to "*\a64sddd.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$WINDIR>\myaccess.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\myaccess.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\affbun.txt".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\sixtypopsix.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\usta32.ini".
• A file with an unknown location named "mmbun.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\a64sddd.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\mm63.ocx".
• The file at "c:\mmxsitessc.exe".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Popupper uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Popupper.PopUp", plus associated values.
• Delete the registry key "{FA79FA22-8DB3-43D1-997B-6DBFD8845569}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{8522FD29-4D5F-4377-B4D6-B832954A7932}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{ECE19BAA-A2B5-4E77-9197-574B9873718C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• Delete the registry key "{FA79FA22-8DB3-43D1-997B-6DBFD8845569}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".

If Popupper uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
