Autorun:
Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
- Entries named "SPOOLSVV".
- Entries pointing to "SPOOLSVV.exe -invisible".
Files:
Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If SearchCentrix uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
- The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\spoolsvv.exe".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\comdlg64.dll".
- A file with an unknown location named "spoolsvv.exe".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\spoolsvv.exe".
- A file with an unknown location named "spoolsvv.exe".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\somaticCAB.exe".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\somaticCAB.INF".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\spoolsvv.exe".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\webalize.dll".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\gsim.dll".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\wzhelper.dll".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\BarBHO.dll".
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!
Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.
Registry:
You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
If SearchCentrix uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
- A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "SomaticCAB.Setup", plus associated values.
- A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "spoolsvv.Class1", plus associated values.
- Delete the registry key "{BB0578ED-E672-4697-9663-EC5A0460B949}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
- Delete the registry key "{C258EAA1-F9FE-491E-B8FF-CE9AF7A7AFF5}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
- Delete the registry key "{831975B3-13A0-4DA4-AA6F-6C427175C30E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
- Delete the registry key "{FF6AAA4C-9FB8-4663-A04C-EB9D02568D1D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
- Delete the registry key "{D1020AD1-3754-4C54-BF4D-EA01652EC4BE}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
- Delete the registry key "{EF5ABEC9-965E-4E2D-B9C9-D168A2706670}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
- Delete the registry key "{BB0578ED-E672-4697-9663-EC5A0460B949}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\".
- References to the file "Downloaded Program Files/somaticCAB.exe" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\.
- Delete the registry key "MyGeekInstalled" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
- References to the file "Downloaded Program Files\somaticCAB.exe" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
- Delete the registry key "{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-98F7-EB6DB99AA93B}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
- Delete the registry key "{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FB-EF60B19DBC34}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
- Delete the registry key "{CD2A865B-6C0F-44F9-BAA1-7CDB31E04BC8}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
