The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "PWS.LDPinch" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:

after execution the trojan horse connects to the internet and downloads additional files, adds itself to the windows directory and to systemstart, also changes the IE Start Page to a local website with a script which will download an exe file. Trojan runs 2 instances of the Internet Explorer in background.

Supposed Functionality:

download link can be sent by email, saying it is an antivirus software.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "TaskMgr" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\avp.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "c:\2.exe".
• The file at "c:\a.htm".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\avp.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\csrss.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\dll.dll".
• A file with an unknown location named "avp.exe".
• A file with an unknown location named "csrss.exe".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If PWS.LDPinch uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "{DCB236D1-7486-4E4C-9A79-4431323C3460}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".

If PWS.LDPinch uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.

• Please check your bookmarks for links to "C:\a.htm".
