Hi
No, that is not needed :)
You might need to re-install certain startup programs as they were infected and deleted.
Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
Code:
RenV::
----a-w 67,128 2008-01-21 00:01:52 C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LogitechDesktopMessenger .exe
----a-w 1,694,208 2008-01-21 05:29:33 C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs .exe
</pre>
File::
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\fueknnwm.ini
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\hmnxctde.ini
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\RCX315.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\bfhgqssn.ini
C:\WINDOWS\mrofinu572.exe.tmp
Folder::
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\xv2
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\edcA01
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ap3
C:\Temp\Ryuan1
Driver::
jswmidin
MSControlService
Registry::
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Ktg"=-
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\ssqomjj]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\Aida]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\IST Service]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\TBPS]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\WinTools]
Save this as "CFScript"
Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/CFScript.gif
This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.
Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

i dont know what to do my combofix ran and deleted a bunch of .dlls then finished but my windows didnt reboot so i waited about 15 mins and looked for those processes or any weird ones but didnt see any so i had to restart. Now i dont have a log so should i run it again or something?

Hi
Go to start -> run
Type notepad C:\ComboFix.txt and click ok
Combofix log should open in notepad, pleas post of contents of it here :)
-
it says it cannot find it should i run it again?
-
-
ugh... it just started saying stuff real fast after the scan then closed and no log opened or anything.... it didnt freeze but the time isnt reset either (its changed to the way combofix changes it) and my net stopped working so i restarted. Should i just keep trying? I dont really know what to do.
-
Hi
Try to run it then in safe mode and tell if it works there.
-
ugh sorry no it didnt... and my time is still what combofix changed it to. It just scans everything then after the 38th it goes down a couple lines and starts spitting out like directories so fast i cant even see and then closes and nothing happens. When i am not in safe mode my internet stops working. The first time i tried it, it actually went to the deletion one and so on but now it just stops after the scan and nothing comes up so maybe i have to system restore and try it again? i dont know i will just wait further instruction.
-
Hi
Yes, you can try system restore.
But try to find a restore point after initial combofix.
-
i went back to the system restore right before the first deletion you had me do today and proceeded to do it again with the same results. It scanned and then said it was deleting those files/folders. I waited for a moment then what appeared to be the same text (its really hard to tell it goes so fast) came and then the window closed and nothing came up. I waited for 10 minutes and checked the processes but didnt see anything unusual. At this point my windows wasnt loaded and it was just my background so i had to restart. am i screwed?
