My total load time was 56 seconds. Using Filemon.exe I noted that there is a 34 second period of time when Spybot is not accessing files. The gap is after reading:

CPU Speed: 1 GHz Arhlon
System memory: 256 MB Operation System: XP SP2 Pro Antivirus solution: no Firewall software: No (No network connection at all) Other security software: no Have floppy drive: [Yes/No]: Yes, but it does not seem, that this is the (only) culprit), because of: - 1.4 does the floppy scan also - I can hear the floppy access after a few seconds, and after that it takes the most time (> 20 seconds), until the progress bar window appears. Freshly installed testing system, only xp and SSD, out of the given reasons definitly malware-free. Further more: I don't see a noticeable difference in startup-speed, whether I start ssd directly after booting the machine or if restart ssd directly after 5 ... 10 seconds after having it closed without rebooting the machine. |

CPU Speed: Athlon 3200+ (2.01GHz)
System memory: 1GB Operation System: Win XP Pro service pack 2 Antivirus solution: AVG Free Firewall software: Zonealarm Other security software: Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster Have floppy drive: No It takes 31 seconds from double clicking icon for the "Loading spybot" graphic to appear. I have also noticed that it take 6 seconds for the spybot updater window to appear after clicking on the update icon. With version 1.4 there was no noticable delay. Always been a fan of spybot, but there is something not quite right with v1.5 |

CPU Speed:3.0GHtz.Intel P4 FSB 550
System memory:512 HD: 80 Gig Western Digital (86% Free) Operation System:Win XP Pro SP1 +++hand picked patches. Antivirus solution:AVG Free 7.5 includes latest optional updates. Firewall software:Win XP Pro native inbound only & D-link Router w/FW. Other security software: None Running in background except TT & SD Helper & AVG AV. ALL else disabled in Tools >Sys Start-up. Confirmed ALL malware free incl.RootKits. Have floppy drive: [Yes] Currently taking 400% longer from Icon click to 1st appearance of load bar compared w/ 1.4 in same config. on same machine. Reboot of machine makes no difference to the time factor(takes as long any time click icon). Excessive time from Load Bar vanishing to S&D GUI appearing as well. No significant difference whether TT/SD running or not. Disconnecting from server after successful Update takes excessive time (30 seconds +) compared to 1.4, whether click corded plug icon or just red X out of update. Update download speed fine (S-N #2 Europe). Running in Advanced Mode. Seriously considering re-installing 1.4. Only Sea Monkey 1.1.2 used as browser w/ Sun Java 1.4.2_15. S.M. most suitable for PRE-SP2(refused) machines. Normal boot time from power click to full desktop w/no hour glass: 45 sec. |

CPU Speed: 1.7 GHz
Memory: 512MB OS: Windows XPSP2 (Home) fully patched Antivirus: AVG 7.5 (up to date) Firewall: Comodo 2.4.18.184 Other security software: Windows Defender, WinPatrol 12.1 Floppy Drive: yes Symptoms: From click on QuickLaunch icon to loud click from HDD takes 4 sec; then at 57 sec (total) progress bar first appears. In between, CPU goes to 100% per Process Explorer. There was a Hosts-file-change alert from Windows Defender shortly after SSD GUI appeared, followed by a similar alert from WinPatrol. Suspected Hosts file might be involved, so I checked Microsoft.Windows.RedirectedHosts per a response in this forum, but this had no effect; that is 4sec to HDD click, 57 sec to progress bar; but no alerts from WD or WP this time. |

CPU Speed: 633mhz Intel Celeron
System Memory: 256 MB Operation System: Windows ME Browsers: Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and Firefox 2.0.0.7 Antivirus Solution: AVG 7.5.487 Free Edition Firewall Software: Sygate Personal Firewall Pro 5.6.3408 Debug Build Other Security Software: SpywareBlaster, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spyware Terminator, MVPS Hosts, Hostman 3.45, IESecure Module, SpywareGuard, Ads Filter v1.15 Have Floppy Drive: Yes Significant increase (3-4 minutes) in Spybot 1.5 loading after clicking on icon to launch. * Please note that I have none of my security software setup or scheduled to run as fulltime running processes (except Sygate Firewall, which loads at startup), I only use them for manual, on-demand scanning purposes. I also update them manually as well. I usually have the CPU cycles idle and free at 90% (+/-) at all times and I usually have 80% system resources available. When Spybot 1.5 launches, CPU cycles jump up to 100% until fully launched. Once Spybot 1.5 is fully launched, there are no problems - super fast scan, update, etc. Never had any problems with Spybot 1.4 and I do not use Tea Timer in either version. Spybot 1.5 does not show up in the "Applications List" of CCleaner v2.00.500 |
