It does support Pale Moon: It lists it as a variant of Firefox.
Now let's be more specific about the IE Immunizations...
The unlabeled user refers to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER (HKCU) logical Registry hive.
Local Machine (Global) refers to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE...
I believe that it just looks for entries in the Spybot hosts file that aren't in it yet, and then adds them; I made a thread about it over a year ago, and I'm about to update it with my latest...
Have you tried digging into the Spybot program directory and then dragging the .crx file over to Chrome? I had to do that to install the extension into Chrome Canary...
I personally go here to get the update file(s) manually: http://www.safer-networking.org/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe
When I tried the integrated updater in the first Beta, it never...
You do need to close Firefox, because Immunization is trying to alter a file currently in use (hostperm.1 or cookperm.txt in versions older than 3, permissions.sqlite afterward).
The squares are tab characters; I personally replace all tab-runs with single spaces.
Also (on a slightly related note), Spybot 2 doesn't appear to respect the old Registry entry telling Spybot to...
I'm not sure what method Kolla uses to check this, but I've run the Spybot-generated HOSTS file through CIP, using the Google Public DNS, and it failed to find a proper IP address for more than half...
The DNS Cache is actually populated from the HOSTS file, not from the Restricted Sites zone.
I also believe that just entering the command "ipconfig /displaydns" will make the DNS Client cache the HOSTS file.
Do you have Firefox set to delete site preferences on close?
It might have removed all of the entries in your browsing history...
Is it just that Spybot doesn't use ASLR by default (like most apps) or that it (like Safari) fails to work when EMET or a similar tool is used to force Spybot to use ASLR?
Also it might be a good...
The reason for Windows 7 is that Spybot only runs on Windows, and at this time only Windows 7 is available for license.
I know at least that some rootkits rely on Registry entries with strings containing the null character (ASCII/UTF8/UTF16 code-point 0), because that character ends a C-style string, so regedit won't...
Sadly, many computers come with Bing pre-selected as the default search engine; I recommend "Google SSL (https)" from near the bottom of section 5 of these results, because it's one of the few Google...
Try this little utility: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iecookies.html
If you love that no-installation utility, consider getting the whole set, maintained by Nir Sofer: http://launcher.nirsoft.net/...
Try uninstalling gotoassist
Immunization should not block any aspect of any online banking sites; what bank do you use?
An IE tracking cookie can only be used to track activity on browsers that embed the Internet Explorer engine; I wonder, if you use one of the "IE Tab" extensions (so some Web apps, like Windows...
Also the MDN docs say there are two more: font and media.
Also the actual permission names are objectsubrequest and xmlhttprequest, it's just that Adblock Plus uses abbreviations in its filter...
The only interaction that Spybot has with Chrome is the option to install a Chrome extension; Spybot does not change any internal settings file, so it does not need to care whether Chrome is open...
Just use the manual updater.
I just found out via about:permissions and an SQLite browser that there are two more permission types: indexedDB and geo.
Have you considered checking your proxy or DNS settings? One of the two could have been changed, and indeed if what you describe about your "DNS" is accurate, it is possible that malware has changed...
Will it still be possible to use the manual updater, or will the updates all move to some format not supported by 1.x? I already have noticed that the old version of the Immunization module does not...
To be fair, the free Spyware Blaster also does perform some Immunization (in fact that's really all it does), and although it's not nearly as comprehensive (in particular touching neither the HOSTS...
Just go into the Windows Services console and set all Spybot services to Manual.
I think Spybot checks for some files in the user profile that do not exist unless the browser has been used at least once (I believe either cookperm.txt for ancient versions, hostperm.1 for Firefox...
They only do so indirectly: In the end it gets to be too difficult to both take advantage of the new features of the API of later versions of Windows while also supporting legacy versions, and once...
No, so in the Beta, you just run the Immunization program; you can also download the Alpha version of that Immunization program here if you're still using the Stable version (put it in the Spybot...
I just got an idea...I wonder whether the 192.175.48.1 IP address might work even better; it's used for the IANA blackhole server prisoner.iana.org:...
Basically you're asking Spybot to duplicate the functionality of HostsMan, which isn't a bad idea; also, changing the IP address used is possible for the current stable version with a Registry entry:...
Maxthon is immunized via the IE immunization (it shares the Restricted Sites, Cookie settings, and ActiveX killbits), while Chrome and Safari do not have any means to programmatically block certain...
My guess is that the updater uses an alternate user account.
Well it has been reported to cause high CPU utilization and to be difficult to remove: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Trusteer
For now, try manually downloading the updates here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
Also turn off the automatic update service, and in the Windows Services control area, set...
same here; also I used Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel to keep the Spybot tray from loading automatically
ok, I just misunderstood your post to mean that so far the feature was only in Nightly and that you still thought its version number had not been incremented to 7
I'm interested to see your...
Try Stopping all associated services and Uninstalling the Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer integrations first, from the Services menu.
Actually Nightly has been at 7.0a1 for a little while now; anyway about:permissions is basically a way to edit permissions.sqlite, and Immunization of Firefox does indeed add entries to...
"Java 2 Runtime Environment" is a very old version of Java (1.4); "J2SE Runtime Environment" is also an old version of Java (1.5). Also, you should ensure that the ancient MSJVM (equivalent to Java...
I agree: I went ahead and tested the last few ones and there were errors with several and a false positive in v108 (the ATI Catalyst Control Center).
Specifically, it keeps crashing at rule 658F3C1D.
Maybe that would allow the scanner to make it past "Agent-BR2" without locking up on my machine (before it gets to that, it says that it found one threat with a rating of 5, but I never get to see...
Spybot did add them, but I just tested cbs.com in Internet Explorer 9 with not just the Spybot additions to Restricted Sites but also with Peter Lowe's Ad Servers added to Restricted Sites via...
Oddly this file, along with all of the "New Malware" files starting with v112, is still unavailable after nearly a year.
Are there any OpenSBI files that do have the necessary rating yet? I'm down to "New Malware v93" now and I've been copy-pasting.
I'm not creating OpenSBI files; I've just been interested in using...
Disable TeaTimer
I don't see a download link, just a set of plain-text embedded within the code tags, and for the newer OpenSBI files there is no way for me to even see them.
I will still make text-files out of...
