Cant get spybot to start

I have installed spybot and can not get it to run for me. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall with no better luck. It will update but when i click the icon to start it it wont run. Any ideas?

Perhaps Malware blocks Spybot from running. What you can try:

Step # 1
Try to start Spybot in a different way, like you can see here.

Step # 2
Try to open and run Spybot in safe mode.

Step # 3
Rename Spybot's *.exe file into sauce73.exe and try to run it again.

Moreover, you can try to run RootAlyzer:
Download RootAlyzer to your desktop.

• Unzip it to a folder on your desktop, close all windows, and run RootAlyzer.exe
• Click Ok to the two prompts and let the program run it's Quick Scan automatically, this should only take a few seconds
• Click the Deep Scan tab, check all the boxes and click Ok. Let the scan run un-interrupted, it will take a few minutes.
• When it is finished scanning, a Log tab will appear at the top, click that. Highlight all the text, right-click on it and press Copy.
• Paste that information back here by pressing Ctrl + V, or right-click and press Paste. Also mention if you had any problems.

Step # 4
If the above steps aren't helpful, then I would like you to do that.

That did the trick. I thank you so much. I have been beating my head into a wall over a week trying to get this thing going. I greatly appreciate your help.
