Default how to scan & delete solely usage tracks

    Hi folks!

Hey, anyone know how to set spybot up to solely scan for usage tracks fast?

It takes so long to run spybot and I would like to clean out the usage tracks more often but don't want to take the usual longer scan time.

MRU blaster works great but that's more space on my hard drive, and more running program space.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Diligent.

    Try the following:
    • Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > File sets.
    • Right click on the list and select "Usage tracks check only".
    • Click "Spybot-S&D" (left pane).
    • Click "Check for problems" (right pane).

When the scan completes go back into File sets and return the list to the way you originally had it ("Select all available checks" or "Spyware checks only").

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

It'd probably be easiest to get Spybot to show the filesets button on the check for problems page, that way you can easily switch back and forth whenever you like.To do that, open Spybot, hit Mode up top, select Advanced Mode, then on the left select Settings, then Settings below that, scroll down to Expert Settings, then put a check beside 'Show expert buttons in results list.'
Then, over to the left click Spybot-S&D,then Search & Destroy. You should now see File Sets over to the right.Click that, and you can select Usage tracks check only,to just scan for tracks.

    Zenobia:

Ding dong. You had a better idea to make it "quick".

Thanks MD USA and Zenobia. Appreciate the time and thought!

I had used mrubalster before, and having done so, noticed that spybot sort of appeared different, so I went ahead and downloaded MRUBlaster again.

When I run MRUbalster, the spybot right after that, spybot still picks up "usage tracts" after MRUblaster takes oput the "mru lists". So it seems that we are not talking about the same animal here.

Adding the spybot quick access will be a great add on to MRUblaster though. I notice that these mru lists are programs and registry keys.

Why cant one just block the use of these programs and prevent the registry key(s) addition(s) in the first place? Or maybe delete the program?

Meanwhile, I'll try out what you folks suggested.

And thanks again. It really is appreciated.

    Diligent.

    Zenobia.

This is a bit off the usage track post. That is working fine, thanks.

I caught a malware, but fixed it OK. The prob is how to let the right folks know that Spybot is not fully working on this one.

I saved the malware names spybot picked-up, that kept comming back due to a dll. I then found the dll and sent it to recycle. Then everything worked OK. So I copied the dll back into a folder I put on my desktop, so that someone at spybot could see and read it and fix the spybot to adjust for whatever this dill is doing to avoid being fixed by spybot.

This should help someone else. I was on this for a day or more.

Could you let me know where to send this info?

    Thanks, Diligent.

    Hello diligentinquirer.

If Spybot-S&D does not detect an item please send the zipped file to: detections(AT)spybot.info (Replace AT with @)

Please put the name of the file/infection into subject matter.

    Cheers.
