    Default GEAREXT, IExplore, general slowness

    Hello,

My computer has been running unusually slow lately and something called iexplore keeps having to shutdown. Then this morning a text file was saved on my desktop that I definitely did not save or create.

_GEAREXT.WO_IDENT is the name of the file. That irked me quite a bit.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Here is a HiJackThis! Logfile I just ran

Welcome to the forum, please see what miekiemoes has to say about that file here:
    http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=86204

I also see no evidence of any malware problems in this HJT log. Have a look at this link:
    http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/m...wcomputer.html

I do see an out of date Java program: C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04\ and it is just a matter of time before that does get you infected, see this:
