False User Aborts

So I update my SpyBot S&D today, run it as usualy only I got a "User Abort! Scan was not completed successfully."

Thinking I may have hit a key or caused this myself, I closed the app and opened it, ran the program again, and again, it got about 1/8 of the way complete when it again said "User Abort! Scan was not completed successfully."

Ok, now I know I didn't do anything this time, so I disabled my screensaver, closed EVERYTHING else that was running and ran the app again.
And again, about 1/8 of the way thru, "User Abort! Scan was not completed successfully."

Is there possibly malware that is preventing SpyBot S&D from scanning it, and forcing an abort?

If so, what now?
