    Default Restricted Sites Question

    Hi,

With the Spybot S&D program, can sites be automatically downloaded into the restricted website security in your internet options? If an ad or banner pops up and you choose to deny the download, will that website be automatically downloaded into the restricted websites or does someone manually have to type them in in order for them to be posted?

I am really not exactly sure what you mean by:

I am not sure if you are talking about the messages issued by Spybot's "SDHelper" Browser Helper Object (Internet Explorer bad download blocker), that is blocking the storing of cookies from sites or if you are talking about messages issued by Internet Explorer's "Pop-up Blocker".

In either case, entries are not automatically added to the restricted sites list.

Spybot's immunization currently adds 3295 entries to Internet Explorer Restricted Sites.

If you are interested in adding additional sites to Internet Explorer's Restricted Sites, there are other products that also add entries to Internet Explorer Restricted Sites.

SpywareBlaster is one such product. SpywareBlaster works similarly to Spybot's immunization, adding registry entries that block cookies from some sites, places other sites in the restricted zone and blocks the download/execution of selected ActiveX scripts.

Another product that adds tens of thousands of Internet Explorer Restricted Site entries to the registry is IE-SPYAD.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

Basically, I am not computer savvy. I went into the restricted sites list (knowing I have never manually put any websites in there) and I saw that there were hundreds posted. Most of them were gambling & porn sites. I was not sure if someone had to manually put them in there so that that website I would never see that website or if spybot had the capability to automatically make those entries. I basically want to know if this is possible or if manually entry is the only way.

Did you use Spybot's immunization facility? If so there would be 3295 entries in the restricted sites.
