    Default redirected host

    Hi people,
    can somebody tell me what does it mean when your S&D scan shows "redirected host" entry(in red).i checked hosts file in system32\drivers\etc folder and it is full of names mapped to loopback address.

    The detections are primarily anti-malware sites that have been redirected in the HOSTS file so that you can not access the site.

    From the description provided for Microsoft.Windows.RedirectedHosts detections on the scan screen:
    Hijackers often use the hosts file to redirect websites to other ipadresses, commonly antivirus vendors get blocked by hijackers

    Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

    Hi,
    When i posted question i tried to comment out one of the entries in the hosts file to see if i can connect to it.Since it connected i figured out what it means.Thanks for your time
