Default Is TeaTimer supposed to be active by default?

If I'm running in advanced mode should the two TeaTimer boxes be checked? What do these do, exactly? I noticed that when I went from basic to advanced mode, they were both unchecked.

TeaTimer is not activated by default. It must be activated in one of two (2) ways:
    1. During the installation process on the "Select Additional Tasks" screen by checking the following item:
      • Use system settings projection (TeaTimer)
    2. Going into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident and checking the following item:
      • Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.

There is only one TeaTimer box. I believe that the other box that you are referring to may be the SDHelper.

There is a brief description of both in the following thread as well as information in Spybot's help facility:

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition running on a 2.40GHz IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor with 512 MB of RAM and a 533 MHz System Bus.
