Default Another lockup report (file error: ...\Includes\TrojansC.sbi)

Greetings ... I was running SS&D after downloading the updated definitions on Sunday, June 24. At the 59,131/69,808 point (during the check for Zlob PPlayer), the program stopped running and this error message appeared in a popup box:

There were problems in the include (sic) file C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search_Destroy\Includes\TrojansC.sbi
See 'Include errors.log' for details. [[OK]]

When I clicked OK, the program resumed, only to hang again for good at 67,209/69,808 (default - bookmark). Processor shows running 100%, and using Task Manager to shut it down gets a "Program is not responding" box. Had to click "End Now" to stop SS&D and did not get either a completed scan nor an opportunity to fix whatever problems it found.

You need the TCP/IP plugin with the new rule set included in beta updates on 2007-06-06 and regular updates on 2007-06-13 or else you will get an error.

The TCP/IP settings plugin enables Spybot to use new rules which can detect IP addresses entered by malware and exchange them with non harmful entries.

To download and install the TCP/IP plugin you either have to:
    1. Download the following update using the integrated update facility:
      • TCP/IP Settings plugin - !TCP/IP Settings plugin (65 KB) - 2007-06-06

--- or (if you do not use the integrated update facility) ---

    2. Download and execute the following item from the Downloads Web page:
      • TCP/IP Plugin 1.0 - product description - product description
        md5: 7FD95B7E814EA2F56AEACE3613B4A0E9

This adds capabilities to find and replace malicious network settings. Only needed if you do not want to use the update function integrated into Spybot-S&D.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

    Talking TrojansCsbi/ZlobDNSChanger error message

I had to re-download spybot search & destroy as it has been locking up half way through the scan quite a bit recently, have been using it for years & seems to just be doing this & loading slowly just recently.. anyway, after I did a clean re-download & used the integrated updates (as I always do) the scan went all the way through, however, during the scan this same error message popped up on my scan screen also saying to look in the errors, so I did & indeed, there it was again but didn't say anymore than that or what to do about it, hence I am here. I will d/l the update you suggested, however, it must be something to do w/something other than folks who don't use the integrated updates as I have always used the integrated updater for the last 10 years of using this product & it has happened to me. Seems to me the more detections added have caused the problems, from what I've observed.

I followed this instruction and still get the error. I have to manually update the includes since I am behind a firewall at work. This does not resolve the issue.

    joelapp:

Please post a scan log. To do that:
    • Run another scan.
    • When the scan completes, right click on the results list, select "Copy results to clipboard".
    • Then paste (Ctrl+V) those results to a new post in this thread.

    Default same problem

I'm having pretty much the same problem as paperboyz. I get that box about a problem with the file C:\Program Files\Spybot - search_Destroy\Includes\TrojansC.sbi
See 'Include errors.log' for details. [[OK]] thing & to look at the errors log, but it's pretty much gibberish to me. The main difference is that my scan never completes. It getss 3/4 thru, then the spybot screen just goes away. So I have no 'scan log' to copy to post. I made sure I had the TCP/IP downloaded. Just ran another scan and the same thing happened.

Any help would be appreciated as I miss having spybot do its thing

    Thanks,
    srushj

    Default solved

I ended up downloading & reinstalling 1.4 and now it seems to run just fine. I'm wondering when I ran into the problem, I did NOT initially download the TCP/IP and then ran a scan& thats when I started having the problems. Even after I did the TCP it still didn't finish.
But now, all is fine. Hope this can help somebody else.
