Hi I had the same problem, I used task manager to stop aacenter in process's, then opened control panel/uninstall program. then highlighted Asus A1, then uninstall. Works fine no pop-ups.

The problem is with a process called aaCenter. It is located C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS if you have a 64bit OS.

I had to stop the process aaCenter before I could delete the folder.

After you stop the process you go to the folder listed above, the Delete the most recent folder in there (mine was 1.00.54)

This has worked for me on several restarts
Thank you for the post I had the same problem since I installed W7-64 bit
I had 2 folders there to delete now the problem is gone.

same Can't Find AsIo.sys message on boot. aaarrrrggh. running Win 7 x64.

    i don't have a aaCenter process.

i do have a program files x86 Asus folder with several folders/programs in it. some i'd like to keep -- Cool n Quiet, TurboV Evo, PC Diagnostics.

do i probably have to wipe out the whole Asus folder to get rid of that boot annoyance? what do you mean, "delete the most recent folder in there" ???

    thanks

I am having the same problems described here: "Can't open AsIO.sys !!(2)" and "Access Violation 0000000000000". These started after I did an in-place reinstall of Win7-64 Pro. For the previous year Probe II and AI Suite had run without problems.

I have gone through deleting the folder from "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS" after stopping "aaCenter". This made no difference. From another forum I got the suggestion to uninstall the apps, reboot, run registry cleaner (JV16 Power Tools), reboot, and reinstall the most recent versions. No luck.

"aaCenter" no longer appears in the process list. There is, however, an Asus System Control Service and process running "AsSysCtlService". I have not done anything to this process/service yet.

It certainly seems that this is a pattern, especially after a system reinstall, as I have seen similar complaints on Asus's own forum.

I am hoping that by reviving this thread I might get some new suggestions to deal with this. I would really like to get Probe and AI Suite, especially Fan Xpert back. They were both quite useful, since I run Prime95 full time and need to keep track of temps, etc.

Many thanks in advance to anyone with ideas or experience with this issue which you can share.

    Default Further info

I did away with AsSysCtlService and removed all Asus items from the HDD and the registry. This made no difference in being able to run the programs. All the same errors occur.

    Thumbs up Success!

Problem solved thanks to Win7's scheduled back ups. Getting back before the reinstall got me to a point where AI Suite and PC Probe would install correctly. Then I just had to sooth a couple of other apps which got upset by the restores.
