    Default Google Tracking

    Hi,
There has been a lot in the news lately about Google saving browser information- sites visited for two years.
I read that I could stop Google from saving this info by putting the following in the Hosts file:
    # [Google Inc]
    127.0.0.1 www.google-analytics.com

    Is this a good idea?

I post this here because Spybot does allow us to create a hosts file redirecting bad guys to 127.0.0.1.
I could also refuse cookies from Google but this would kill my search history.
I do clear cookies at logoff.
    Thanks

Can you provide the reference to where you read that?

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.
