    Unhappy system alert

OK. I downloaded and ran spybot s&d. However, I'm still getting a pop-up from the bottom saying " System Alert" (every 5 minutes) "has detected a number of spyware applicationsthat may impact the performance of your computer, blah, blah, blah. I used spybot to get rid of spyshredder, but when I go into programs it is still there and won't let me uninstall. At first, spyshredder came up every time I rebooted and the only way to shut it down was to go into system config, to startup and un-check spyshredder in there, and that would close it down. Now, I have to start up in selective startup everytime I reboot. Is there any way around this, and how to I get rid of that annoying 5-minute popup? Thanks for any help you can provide!
