Question Unable to setup ignore file extensions

    Hello,

I'm trying to add extensions to the "settings--> ignore File Extensions" but I'm unable to do so.
I read the Help but that was not much of a Help.

My take on the Ignore files is that one can place *.??? extension and all *.??? will not be scanned. Is that right?

For example, *.ICO or *.ANI. How do I skip SP fom scanning them?

    Mode: Advanced
    Windows: Vista Home Premium

    Thanks for any help

    Default

From the Ignore file extensions screen (underlining added):

    Ignore file extensions

Define file extensions to be ignored during the Usage Tracks scan.

This is a list of extensions currently stored in the Windows file open/save dialog history and of those already on your exclude list. Every extension you exclude here will not be cleared from the dialogs history when you clean usage tracks.
The feature is for a Usage Tracks scan only and only affects the cleaning (not scanning) of the Windows file open/save dialog history which is this detection (in Windows XP):

    Code:
Common Dialogs: History (xxx files) (Registry key, nothing done)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMRU

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.
