    Default Next Major Version?

    Hello,

Thank you for releasing Spybot 1.5! it works great, and it is a must for all pcs.

Anyway, Would the next version of Spybot be version 2.0? in future years to come

and also, I see how it is now "1.5.1" instead of older versions like "1.3" or "1.2", So does this mean that you guys will be releasing minor updates when neccessery? say the next version would be "1.5.2" because this and that was fixed/changed etc... like Ad-aware is now doing for there 2007 version? Just curious

    Thanks Spybot!!

Well, version 1.5 was basically the one we worked on to get Certified for Vista. When we noticed that Certified for Vista is actually not really beneficial for security software (see our news section), we already had a bunch of additional ideas in mind that we wanted to put into the release as well, so we more or less skipped what we had declared as 1.5 state.

And we were already releasing "minor" updates, just take a look at the library updates (the tools library and advanced check library were updated every few months, and these are the ones providing most of the detection capabilities). There might be updates in the third digit though, that's true.
Btw, what exactly was fixed or changed, you should be able to look up in the project manager now

The next version 2.0? That's the plan, yes, with probably minor updates of the 1.x meanwhile. But we'll try to make the wait shorter than the lost one
