    Unhappy Micro Bill Sys

After doing a search on your forums I see other users have had issues with this company. I'm currently trying to fix a friends PC but with little luck. I'm no techy by any means but he's even less techy than I

I have ran Spybot S&D and it successfully removes the Micro Bill Sys threat, but upon rebooting it is back to its former glory and popping up a bill using IE (my friend uses Firefox primarily). The bill is genuine and hes paying it via cheque (would you give your debit card details online to this company? I think not!) but in the meantime, he needs shot of this popup! World of Warcraft also says he has a trojan downloader Win32 Agent Variant, which I assume is this MicroBillSys thingy, which has prompted him to run Spybot in the first place.

I've followed your 'before you post' thread, but unfortunately the Kaspersky website is timing out on me, so I can only provide the HJT log.

    Hi Tilnoom

Disclaimer: These instructions should NOT be used if you willingly installed the software, and agreed to its terms.

    1. Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.
    • Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
    • Click "Next"
    • In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
    • Click "Browse"
    • Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
    • Click on "Local Disk (C: ) or whatever your primary drive is
    • Click "Make New Folder"
    • Type in BFU
    • Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".

    2. RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download MicroBill Remover.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

    3. Then, please go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
    • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
    • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon and select mbs.bfu
    • Press Execute and let the program do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
    • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
    • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
Reboot into normal windows and post back a fresh HijackThis log.

    Thanks very much Tashi.

I've followed the instructions above, updated and ran Spybot, rebooted and ran again and everything appears clear! Just to double check though, can you have a look at todays HJT. I'm hoping you are going to say "Hurrah, tis all fixed!"
