I somewhat doubt it, but try updating so that you are doing the scan with the latest updates (2007-10-04) and see if you get the same detection and then repost the Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log file.

I believe that you will find that Windows Security Center is not set to start automatically when you boot your system. To check:
    • Click Start then Run.
    • Type "Services.msc" (no quotes) in the Open block.
    • Click OK.
    • When Services dialog opens, scroll down in the right pane and locate the "Security Center" entry in the list.
    • Double click on the entry.
    • The "Startup type" should normally be set to "Automatic" and the "Service status" should normally be "Started".

Do you happen to run Norton?

Yes, I do use Norton Internet Security AntiSpyware Edition 2007. The Windows Security Center is disabled.
That is possibly by choice as I use Norton's firewall. Should I just ignore the Spybot warning?

    jonathan1947:

You actually have several choices as to how to handle the problem, including restoring Windows Security Center functionality. I listed three (3) options near the bottom of post #3 in the following thread:
