Cannot delete or open SpyBot

This is a strange problem. I had a virtumonde infection and ran SpyBot 1.4 to try to get rid of it. It would work temporarily, but reappear. Then, I decided to download and install 1.5. However, the Add/Remove Programs control panel will not let me remove 1.4 from my XP machine. I downloaded and installed 1.5 anyway. Now, I cannot get either version to open and scan, and I cannot remove either version from my computer.

Any thoughts? Thank you very much.

We recommend a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Please uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy according to the following link: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/uninstall.html
Then download a fresh copy of Spybot - Search & Destroy and try to install it again: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html.
