Computer always slowing down horribly, always runs scndsk at boot up

I've started to delete things and follow the advice in that post, and I think it's helping, but it's still really laggy feeling.

It doesn't make sense to me. When I first got my laptop it was perfectly fine, I could open a lot of programs without a hitch, and then . . . I dunno.

I'll keep going through that list of things and see if any of them trigger anything.

uh, i have had it a little over a year now. it's an inspiron b130 if that helps...

Then defragging should help if you haven't defragged it earlier
