spybot problems

i am a long time user of spybot with never any problems just built new pc with vista and tried to install spybot
did install loaded slowley downloaded fix for that now program freezes tried to uninstall through control panel it tells me spybot is already uninstalling to wait until it is through, cannot shut down with task manager. finally had to do a system restore to an earlier date. on my xp machine everything with spybot ok. what gives it it just vista

ok i think i solved my prob i went to registry and deleted all spybot and safernetworking and then redownloaded from safer netwoking site did not use a mirror then downloaded fix for slow starting and everything seems to be ok ,. pc running smooth cpu not spiking and pc not dragging hopes it works this time
