    Default IE helper help

    Hello,

I just recently downloaded the most recent version of SB Search and Destroy. I love the program and as in the past, it has helped me keep my machine clean. How however, most EVERY time I try to sign into my Yahoo Mail the little IE helper pops up. It always has only the "deny" button, as the "allow" is grayed out. This gets a little tedious after awhile as I already have to click a few times just to open my mail. Is there any way I can stop this IE helper from constantly popping up all the time?? Tnx for any replies and yours in peace.

    Default IE helper help...

OK, here's a couple of the sites that it says it's blocking. And like others hve said, it won't give me the option of going to any of these sites. As I said in the first post, every time I try and navigate around in my yahoo mail program the helper pops up. Here's an example of three I just now ran into:

    and

I mean this is starting to get ridiculous... every time I click a link to go somewhere I have to click twice because I have to first acknowledge the IE helper pop-up. I'm about ready to uninstall the whole Spybot program. The first version just stayed in the background until I needed it, then I would call it up and it would fix things. I liked that. Now, it's in my face with every click of the mouse... some help!

There is an outstanding feature request to help deal with the problem:

In the mean time you could disable the resident "SDHelper" as follows:
    • Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident
    • Uncheck (if checked) the following:
      • Resident "SDHelper" (Internet Explorer bad download blocker) active.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition running on a 2.40GHz IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor with 512 MB of RAM and a 533 MHz System Bus.
