    Default Spybot "immunize" & Spywareblaster

Please can someone tell me the difference between using Spybot to "immunize" & enabling all protection with Spywareblaster?

Don't they do the same thing in theory?

For Internet Explorer they both add entries to the system registry to place sites in the restricted zone, block the download/execution of selected ActiveX scripts and to block cookies from other sites. However their protection in many cases is for different sites or ActiveX processes.

    Actual numbers:

    Spybot as of 2008-01-23 updates.
    SpywareBlaster as of 2008-01-10 updates.

    .................. Restricted .. Restricted
    ........................ zone ........ zone .... ActiveX ..... Cookies
................... by domain .... by range .... blocked ..... blocked

    Spybot ................. 7864 .......... 77 ........ 895 ......... 182
    SpywareBlaster ......... 3239 ........... 0 ....... 5716 ......... 209
    Both together .......... 9975 .......... 77 ....... 5859 ......... 263

Spybot also adds protection for other browsers and can add a list of HOSTS file entries.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.
