Default Just Installed Latest 1.5.2.20...diff files?

Just installed final 1.5.2.20. Noticed a couple of file changes...in the beta, the main program file was SpybotSD, about 5000 KB...that file is not there anymore. There is an SDMain of 405 KB. Plus, Teatimer.exe is gone. There is a file with the Teatimer icon called UIFTWZPFWZ and type says screensaver. Is this the Teatimer app????

Everything seems to be working though.

Hi there, new to the forums but was searching to a fix to this myself so thought this was the most appropriate place.

I recently had to re-install and have noticed these file changes as well.

Now everything still works fine and the updates dont really bother me, but before this I used to have a scheduled task running at every log-on for spybotsd.exe to autoupdate autoclose and taskbarhide.

Now that this exe has disappeared I have no idea how to accomplish this.

    Any ideas?

    doodleswest:

The names of the programs haven't changed. There is still a SpybotSD.exe and a TeaTimer.exe, they are just hidden.

    To see them:
    • Using Windows Explorer navagate to:
      • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
    • In the Tools menu select Folder Options…
    • In the Folder Options dialog select the View tab.
    • Uncheck the following option:
      • Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)
    • Click the Apply button.
    • Click the OK button.
    • The files should now be displayed

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

To answer the other part of the OP: the three "randomly named" .scr files (screensaver type) are parts of the GUI. You can see what they do by double clicking one of them.

Oh thanks very much for that reply.

I had windows set to show hidden files and still couldn't see them, never even thought of checking that.

    Thanks again

    Binnsy:

You bring up a good point: Because protected operating system files have both the System and Hidden attributes, the "Show hidden files and folders" option must also be selected to view those files. Perhaps I should revise my instructions.

    To see them:
    • Using Windows Explorer navigate to:
      • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
    • In the Tools menu select Folder Options…
    • In the Folder Options dialog select the View tab.
      1. Under the "Hidden files and folders" options:
        • Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected.
        • Not "Do not show hidden files and folders".
      2. Uncheck the following option:
        • Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)
    • Click the Apply button.
    • Click the OK button.
    • The files should now be displayed
