    Default Nasty something or other

    OK,
i am not a PC Guru by any means, but have more than average knowledge of my computer. here is my problem, there are 2 actually

    1) when running an AVG scan OR an ADAWARE scan, puter reboots itself... i am guessing due to some virus worm or other general nasty visitor in my system

    2) since yesterday when i restart my system i get the wonderful pop up...
could not find c:/.... IBM00003. we used to have this trojan... i removed it, and reformatted PC... i have scanned PC and manually looked in common files>microsoft shared, where this particular nasty likes to hide... it is NOT there... i have done MS config, and disabled all start up programs except for my antivirus, and it still comes up on every start up, here is my hijack this log... any help is appreciated... and i will cry if you tell me to reformat again...LOL

    hi tarnished angel,

you running hjt out of a temp dir. could you move it, also there is a newer version of hjt out now.
see this link, about half way down there is info about hjt. delete the one in the temp dir.

    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

    ----------------------------------------------------
after the above look in add/remove programs file for:
WebRebates (by TopRebates.com) and uninstall if present

    next:
check for updates to Spybot and your antivirus. update them, but run them in safe mode.
you reach safe mode by tapping the f8 key during a restart, chose the first option SAFE MODE, after scanning reboot computer normally
    ---------------------------------------------------
rescan and post back with the newer version of hjt............shelf life
How Can I Reduce My Risk?
