Angry Updated to SpyBot 1.5.2 and my system is hosed - now what?!?

I ran the update for SpyBot 1.5.2

After I installed it, I rebooted my system.

After rebooted I noticed that there was a new icon in my taskbar. I also noticed that there was some kind of new firewall on my system.

This new SpyBot firewall blocked a lot of my automatic downloads/updates (example: AVG virus updates, Windows updates, etc.). Also, I cannot connect to the Limewire network.

I could not get rid of this SpyBot firewall so I uninstalled SpyBot and rebooted and all of my automatic downloads/updates and Limewire are still not working.

Everything was working fine before I did the SpyBot update.

Now what? Do I have to uninstall my OS and start from scratch?

    Any help would be appreciated.

System specs (brief – I can give more details if needed)
    - OS: Win2kPro (with all of the latest updates, patches, etc.)
    - Intel 2.8GHz processor (Prescott core)
    - 512MB RAM

    Thanks.

Where did you get your version of Spybot from? as Spybot 1.5.2 doesn't have a firewall included in any way shape or form. The only official Spybot taskbar icon/program is the one for the Tea Timer which looks like a little square with a padlock in the top right hand corner.

    Yes that is the one.

From my initial post where I said "some kind of new firewall" maybe firewall was not the best choice of words.

Lightbulb sounds like u need information about what

spybot teatimer is and how to deal with it.

Please read this information about TeaTimer:
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/33.html

    and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/index.html

    and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/34.html
If you surf the web and without any user interaction the teatimer pops up and warns about a registry change it is better to "deny", but if you install something by yourself it is OK to "allow" and remember the change.
If you do not want teatimer to run-open spybot-click mode-advanced mode-click yes. click tools-resident. uncheck teatimer spybot sd resident protection over all systems active. Restart. Teatimer will no longer run. I would do that if you don't want to be asked to allow or deny changes, things such as major system changes, or installations of new programs. hope that helps.
