Get application errors when running SB:S&D 1.5.2

I have SB:S&D set to run a scan each morning at 4:30 am, and when it is running it leaves the following, repeated error in the Application Event log:

Description:
The timeout waiting for the performance data collection function "PerfProc" in the "C:\WINNT2\system32\perfproc.dll" Library to finish has expired. There may be a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted.

This error occurs about every 1 minute 20 seconds until the scan is finished.
Can any one tell me:

1. Why is this occuring?
2. How can I eliminate it?
3. How can I ensure it doesn't come back?

I am running Win2k Professional with SP 4 with IIS. IIS has to be working.
