    Default 1.5.2 does'nt work !!

I have been using Spybot 1.4 for months without any problem.
Yesterday morning, I included version 1.5.2 during an update.
Then I installed this new version, following scrupulously all the instructions.
Unfortunately, it does'nt work : by an attempt of scanning the disk,
I had the message : you must first intall the updates.
I launched the update module, then was advised by Windows that the program had caused an error in < unknown>. Then the computer was blocked.
I uninstalled completely Spybot (even deleting the files left after the uninstall
    process).
I reinstalled from scratch using the file spybotsd152.exe but the same error occured.
    My system is Windows ME.
I really don't know what happens.
Has anybody a suggestion to do ?
How is it possible to get back the version 1.4, that I unfortunately cancelled ?

Thanks. But as I explained, that's what I have done : unquote the immediate download of updates. But when launching the update module, my computer freezes.
Well, I think I will try to go back to 1.4 (thank you for the addresse).
