    Default Did I 'overclean' things?

I'm a regular user of Spybot S&D and AdAware's free home version. You'll notice I also use the vanilla version of McAfee's antivirus software. I've also downloaded the unimpressive beta version of Microsoft's anti-spyware. Recently things have started to really slow down, especially on booting up. I downloaded another Spyware trial software (Spyware Detector or Destroyer -- I can't recall), but it found dozens of alleged worms. I read on another discussion board that this product may be overinclusive, so I passed on buying it and uninstalled it.

I must confess that I also recently followed instructions on a website to make my Windows XP Home more efficient by removing unnecessary features. I can't tell if it's that or some occult program now giving me grief.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Default No reply...yet

No reply yet. Did I do something wrong, or is it just that the weekend was upon us?
