Default immunization Q--why so many domains and cookies?

I am new to spybot and could not find anything about the NUMBER of cookies/domains/IP/plugins and what they mean.

I am an avid user of CCleaner....set to clear ALL cookies, history, recycle bin etc. I am not a gamer, i do not visit porn or music sites, and 99.99999% of the time click CCleaner after leaving the web. so I am really stunned here.

when I did the immunization on spybot it came back with 190 cookies, 8390 domains 77 IPs and 895 plugins

now they are protected...............why so many and do i want them protected??? where can i view these?

    thanks for your help

    Gemini,

These are the numbers of the particular items that Spybot has currently immunised your system against. The numbers are high because these days there are a lot of bad domains, URL's and the like out there that are possible sources of infection, malware etc.

You might like to read this post from md usa spybot fan that describes how Spybot's protects

    Thanks for clearing this up.

the more i kept thinking about it, i did wonder if it was a list that SPYBOT added to use as a filter and NOT actual cookies that i ate while surfing in the web.

i kept looking for something that said that these were part of a list of bad cookies/domains used to filter out etc but found nothing. hmmm perhaps this could be added to the short one-line information on the immunization screen?? to give people heads up????

    thank you.
