    Default Update Issue too Fast...

you know how there is a box to select beta updates... but if there is no updates the "OKAY" to close box opens and closes it faster than you can check mark the box.

I am running the latest release. With current as of this message all updates.
When you click Okay it closes the window where you can select the Beta updates.

Maybe also put that option in the Setting options. Or the Include the beat updates under a separate check updates button.

Both the option to "Display available beta versions" and "Display updates for other languages" are in the settings option tree.

Go into Spybot » Mode » Advanced mode » Settings » Settings. Under Automation » Web update you will see the following:

    Web update
├─ □ Search the web for new versions at each program start.
├─ □ Download updated include files if available online.
├─ □ Remind me to look for updates at program start.
├─ ■ Display available beta versions.
├─ □ Display updates for other languages.
├─ □ Display new and updated skins.
├─ □ Display PGP signature updates.
└─ □ Use proxy to connect to update server.

Check the "Display available beta versions" item.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

Default that is not the problem

that only makes the box appear for the beta updates... but where the issue comes in is... the include beta updates. That one only makes the box appear that you can check mark. But the issue is that if there are no updates... it gives you the OKAY box and to get rid of that you click Okay... then it closes the part where you can checkmark it.

No wait it did checkmark the box.

    THanks..

    Hmmm...

By the way, the updater behaves different depending on whether you start it from within Spybot-S&D, or from its own start menu entry, the later not closing automatically

Default start it from within spybots

I open it up in advanced mode then click on the check for updates.

    If this helps...

    ???

"I open it ..."? What is "it"?

    "Helps who? You or I.

I provided instructions that should get the update prodedure to look for and display "Display available beta versions" before issuing a "No newer updates available" message or closing:

    Default the it

The it I am referring to is the how I initiate the spybots update.

and yes by that check mark it includes the beta updates. Which is what I am wanting. But I was just trying to tell you about a bug... a user might encounter if they didn't know about the settings.

    Though
if the user used the link to the updater in the start menu they would not encounter this issue.
