Default Context Scanning vs. UI Scanning

When I make Spybot Search & Destroy v1. "Check for Problems" running the full interface, I get a Congratulations, no malware found message.

But when I run the new "Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy" context menu option, I get a lot of mp3, jpg and wmv files infected with Smitfraud-C. Is this a FP? or should I worry about being infected with that nasty trojan...

Thanks for a great program, I've been using it for 7 years now...

    Exclamation

I can confirm that those are false positives

Please read: Confirmed: right click scanning of spybot detects smitfraud c all over the place!

Until these f/ps are fixed I recommend you do not use the context menu scanning, although as far as im aware of, the f/ps only occur in Spybot's 'Herustics' scanning

    ???

There have been many versions of Spybot - Search & Destroy released. All have been version 1 something (versions: 1.2 1.2 1.3, etc.).

"... Spybot Search & Destroy v1." does not describe the version of Spybot adequately. To find out the version of Spybot you are running:
    • Go into Spybot > Help > About.
