Installed 1.6, downloaded all the updates and Spybot now takes about 10 times as long to immunise compared to 1.5.2!
Also, my browser, k-meleon is listed in the menu but is not being immunised.

Have you cleared all the cache, temp. files, and cookies from your browsers? Also, have you downloaded all the updates?
What have to done with the previous version of Spybot-SD prior to upgrading to 1.6.0.30?

Unless you are immunizing on a Windows 2003 Server you could uncheck the profiles listed as "(Secure Domains)" under the Internet Explorer and not immunize those profiles to help speed the process. The "(Secure Domains)" immunization appears to only be affective for Windows 2003 Server. See the discussion in the following thread:
