My son clicked on a link in an IM and the chaos began! I was going to try and use some of the similar topic to do this but I was a little overwhelmed by what I should and shouldn't do! I Hope you won't mind helping me too :o .
We tried to fix using our virus program and S&D, with some improvement. Some things "couldn't be fixed" and repeated reboots didn't help. Still having problems with popups from SurfSideKick.
After running the online scan at Panda it says I still have 2 trojans and 103 spy/adware. Iwent in and deleted all the current cookies because there were alot of them show up in the scan. I saved that report if needed. Also, an Auto Protect Results window keeps appearing with various detections (deleted, quarantined, etc.) I think this is the installed virus program.
In prep for this topic, I enabled all in Startup, then ran the S&D and HJT scans. After the S&D ran, I fixed the problems (5) and for the first time it fixed them all! Then a Dell window came up saying I had invalid entries in Startup that needed to be removed. I followed through on that and "wow" I only have half the items that were there before! Next I ran the HJT scanand paste here. Let me know if you want the Panda results too (I didn't fix anything).
I have to send the S&D separately, its too long!
