See here how to set "Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect as default (How to Edit Boot.ini Files; starting from "Another way to configure these two most commonly edited settings is to open the Start menu, right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties" from the context menu. The System Properties dialog box will open as shown below. In the section "Startup and Recovery" click the button "Settings".").

After that, please do again notepad c:\boot.ini and post back fresh boot.ini.

    That was successful, great

Again follow that same tutorial but now choose "Edit" and delete this option:

    Microsoft Windows XP Setup

After that, please do again notepad c:\boot.ini and post back fresh boot.ini.
